One of Cumbria's most spectacular National Trust houses is now available to rent for an estimated £40,000 per year.
Derwent Island House is a grade 2 listed property that sits on a seven acre heart-shaped island, 150 yards from Derwent Water.
The house has seven bedrooms, a one-bedroom annexe, five reception rooms, a library and a dining room which can set 22 people.
The Italianate-style house has its own collection of furniture and art.
The grounds of the house include a former 'mock' chapel, a winter boathouse, two boats, landings and a garage.
The rare opportunity has become available after the current tenants move on after 10 years in the property.
The house is being managed by Carter Jonas, who say the new tenants can look an entry date in December.
