Saturday night:

Some light rain for a time this evening then a dry night with clear spells, a touch of frost and a few fog patches.

Winds falling light. Minimum Temperature -2 °C.

Sunday:

A mainly dry bright day with some sunshine after the clearance of early fog and frost.

Clouding over with rain spreading to Galloway in the afternoon. Colder especially in east. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

Cold air digs in from the north by Tuesday

Outlook:

A spell of heavy rain is expected during Sunday night - up to 40mm could fall over Cumbria.

The rain sinks south during the early part of Monday before sunny spells and scattered showers turn wintry later as the cold air begins to dig in.

Tuesday will feel very cold, with sunshine and a few snow showers, settling above 200m.

Overnight frost into Wednesday with the risk of ice. It will stay cold with snow showers possible.
