The Jet Stream, a fast flowing ribbon of air high in the atmosphere, is over the UK bringing more unsettled weather.
Currently, Met Office National Severe Weather Warnings have been issued for wind and rain across some western and northern areas of the UK over the next few days.
A wind warning is in place overnight as wet and windy weather moves eastwards.
On Friday another storm system will arrive with gale force winds and heavy rain.
Looking into the Christmas week, all of the models that the Met Office uses for its forecasts indicate that this very unsettled and stormy spell will continue.
However, the detail of where and when any storms may be day by day is still uncertain.
