Oh well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be. David Murdoch and his team did their best but it's Canada who take Gold.
Still, if you had offered the boys a Silver medal as David was lining up his miracle shot against Norway in the tie breaker I'm sure they would have bitten your hand off.
They played so well to get into the final and whilst I'm sure they'll be a little disappointed tonight, I'm equally sure that in the morning they will be able to see just what an achievement their silver medal represents.
The whole region seems to have been willing our curlers on. I have enjoyed seeing the pictures and reactions to their success that my colleagues back home have been putting up on the website.
Exactly half of the British curlers are ours. David, Anna Sloan and Claire Hamilton are all from Lockerbie, while Vicki Adams is a Stranraer girl. They'll get a huge and warm welcome when they return home with their medals.
I'll be speaking to David tomorrow, so if there is anything you'd like me to ask him, or if you have congratulations you would like passed on, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
