Carlisle Cathedral seek new recruits

Voices have echoed through Carlisle Cathedral since the Middle Ages. But as the children grow older, they join a different group of singers meaning new recruits are needed.

Both boys and girls are welcomed, between 7yrs to 13yrs. The choristers learn to sing and read music during their practices directed by musical master, Jeremy Suter.

English choral tradition goes back hundreds of years, there has been a cathedral choir at Carlisle since the middle ages and they've sung the daily services in the Cathedral since then. Most of that was a boys choir but we started a girls choir in 2006 and so we want some more girls and we also want some boys on our boys choir."
