Tough start for Queen of the South's new manager

Gary Naysmith's era as Queen of the South's new manager got off to a rocky start last night.

The Doonhamers handed St Mirren their first league win of the season, when Stephen Mallan's goal in the third minute of extra time consigned them to a 3-2 defeat.

It was Queen of the South's seventh successive loss in the Scottish Championship, leaving Naysmith with plenty of work to do.

It's a disappointing result, getting beat at home. You can never be happy getting beat at home.

It's not been ideal for the players either. I only got in yesterday, didn't really get to do much shape work or anything like that.

I've seen loads that we need to work on, things that I was happy with, but loads that we need to work on.
