A forestry worker has died after being hit by a falling tree in the Scottish Borders.
Emergency services were called to the Sunderland Hall estate late on Tuesday, following reports that the man was badly injured and trapped.
Despite efforts from paramedics and the call-out of an Air Ambulance team, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Members of the Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue were also called out due to the difficult terrain in reaching the casualty.
The Health and Safety Executive have been made aware of the accident.
A full investigation into the circumstances will be launched.
