Snow warning for Cumbria

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow Credit: Met Office

A snow warning has been issued for Cumbria.

The Met Office says that 2-5cms could fall in places with up to 10cm on the highest ground, creating problems for traffic tomorrow morning.

It is warning that heavy rain is likely to turn into snow in places across the county early tomorrow as it meets cold air.

Between 2-5cm of snow could fall in places, largely above 150m. Up to 10cm could fall on the highest ground, above 300m.

This will bring a risk of difficult travel conditions for the morning peak travel period including slower than normal journey times, particularly for some cross-Pennine routes. Surface water and slush may cause problems elsewhere.
