Midfielder's Samir Nabi and Jason Kennedy have signed contracts at Carlisle United.

20-year-old Nabi signed a one-year deal which keeps him at United until the summer of 2018.

He joined United having been abroad with the Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League, at the end of March this year.

He made one appearance for the Blues, impressing when he came off the bench during the 2-0 victory at Yeovil at the beginning of April.

Samir is an excellent technical player and we now need to school him in what he needs to do and where he needs to be when we are out of possession.

"He needs to develop his own personality within the group and build on the good start he's had with us."

Midfielder Jason Kennedy signed a new two-year deal, keeping him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2019.

30-year-old Kennedy first signed for United on loan from Bradford in March 2015.

After making the move permanent in the summer of 2016, he has gone on to make 93 appearances for the Cumbrians, scoring 18 goals.

We know all about Jason and we're delighted that he's chosen to stay with the club.

"He's had offers from other clubs which were financially stronger than ours but he enjoys Carlisle United, he enjoys what this club is about, and he feels he has a job to do."
