Dumfries and Galloway Council is using new funding to increase affordable housing in town centres by bringing empty properties back into use.

£1million from council tax on second homes has been used to create a new Town Centre Living Fund.

Applications to the fund will be assessed on how it contributes to regenerating town centres, increases the supply of affordable housing, and brings empty properties back into use.

This fund aims to enable projects that will provide affordable housing while also contributing to town centre regeneration and supporting the empowerment of local communities, giving people a stronger voice on the issues that matter to them.”
