A man accused of burgling a Lake District address with intent to commit a sex offence has appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.

Jake William Sanders, 23, faces two charges following an alleged incident at a property in Windermere on July 1.

In court today, 4 August, Sanders pleaded not guilty to trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence. He also denied an alleged sexual assault on a woman.

A trial, which is expected to last around three days, is due to start at the crown court on November 27 in front of Judge Barbara Forrester.

In the meantime, Sanders, formerly of Victoria Road North, Windermere, and now of Chepstow, was granted conditional bail.

The conditions are that he must not have contact with any prosecution witness; and he must not enter Cumbria except to attend court or a pre-arranged meeting with his solicitors.
