Cumbria Police officers will be joining forces in Kendal this weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer.

Sixteen officers will take part in the event at Elephant Yard on Saturday 19 August between 10am and 6pm.

Two cyclists will ride as many miles as possible each hour in an attempt to cover the Coast-to-Coast distance of 140 miles.

The fundraiser has been organised by Kendal Inspector Paul Latham and Sergeant Siraaz Patel:

My mum sadly died of cancer last year, so I saw first-hand the hard work that Macmillan do, and fully appreciate and understand the difference they make to people who unfortunately find themselves in that situation.

I therefore wanted to give something back and I am really grateful for all those colleagues who have come forward to help me on Saturday. Hopefully people will come and cheer us on and donate some money to this fantastic cause.”
