Theft victim's family offer 'substantial' reward for information

Police Officers in Dumfries are investigating a high value break-in which happened at a house in Carnegie Street in the town at the weekend.

The family of the 75-year-old victim are offering a substantial reward to anyone who can give information which will lead to the arrest and conviction of those involved.

Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cash and jewellery were stolen during the incident.

Police Scotland said:

In working with the victim and his family we have been informed that the family wish to put up a substantial reward in this case.

Many of the items of jewellery stolen are of sentimental value and not possible to replace.

This reward is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this sickening crime."
