Drivers are being urged to take extreme caution this morning, as heavy snow covers a number of roads across Cumbria and the south of Scotland.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of snow and ice covering the whole of the region, in force until 11.00am today.
Travel advice from Police Scotland has been downgraded to 'high risk'.
Drivers in Scotland and northern England had been urged not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
Cumbria Police says it's already receiving numerous reports of incidents on the roads due to the driving conditions.
Here's the list of roads currently closed across the region:
- B5305 at Wigton, closed in both directions
- Dearham Bridge Road
- A6 at Shap summit
The weather caused a number of problems on major routes in the region overnight.
A jack-knifed lorry blocked the A75 at Dumfries in both directions, for a number of hours. The road has now been cleared and reopened.
On the M6 in Cumbria, another lorry jack-knifed at around 1.30am, near junction 39.
