Schoolgirls injured after stone thrown through bus window

Three girls have been hurt after a stone was thrown through the window of the school bus they were travelling on in Carlisle.

The incident happened on Norfolk Street, Denton Holme, on Tuesday at around 3.45pm.

One girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries caused by the shattered glass. The other two girls also received minor injuries.

One of our drivers reported hearing a loud bang as he pulled up to the bus stop on Norfolk Street, Denton Holme, on Tuesday, 16th January.

"After he checked all the people on board were safe, the driver discovered the bus had been struck by a stone, shattering the window. One passenger suffered a minor injury and was taken to hospital to have it checked over.

"Incidents like this are rare and we are working closely with the police to assist with their investigation."
