More heavy snow, ice and rain is expected in Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders.
An ice weather warning was in force last night, until 11am this morning.
Police in Cumbria reported some minor collisions on the M6 motorway yesterday evening, and in the south west of Scotland driving conditions were dangerous on the M74 motorway and A76.
The Met office has now issued further yellow weather warnings for snow and ice throughout most of tomorrow, with heavy rain also expected.
It means the possibility of more disruption to public transport and the region's roads.
Police Scotland have issued a warning to people planning to go out tonight, in particular people who will be drinking alcohol, to plan their return journey in advance, and book a taxi ahead of time if public transport is disrupted.
