Chinese New Year celebrated across Border region

Chinese New Year celebrations have taken place in Dumfries town centre today.

Dozens of people watched a traditional lion dance, while children made lanterns and masks in a local arts venue.

In Cumbria, hundreds of people took part in Carlisle's first Chinese New Year celebration, which took place on 16 February to mark the start of the new year.

This is the Year of the Dog, and festivities will continue around the world until 3 March.
