Despite an improving story across the region over the coming days there remains a risk of ice and some further, mainly light, snowfall over hills later Saturday into Sunday morning.
Icy stretches will continue to be likely on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths during the rest of Saturday onwards into Sunday. As a result, driving conditions may become difficult and there is an increased chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
As an area of rain, sleet and snow edges north during Sunday a further 1-2 cm of snow fall is possible locally. Remaining cold but slightly milder air will follow from the south, meaning the snow risk from there on will be confined to the very tops of the hills.
