The images, one of a girl painting butterflies and another of a soldier about to stand on a banana skin, were created by worldwide street artist Tabby.

They are displayed in Victoria Viaduct and Abbey Street.

Landmark Street Art worked with the artist to bring his designs to the city.

The owner and director of Landmark Street Art, Ben Heslop, said he hopes the new additions to Carlisle are something people can enjoy.

We are big supporters of Carlisle and the city and wanted to start the conversation about the beautification of public spaces through street art.

It is a massive thing in all major cities but not really up here. I have the contacts and the desire to combat the advertising bill boards we are forced to see as we travel around with something else that will hopefully get peoples attention and that they can enjoy."

– Ben Heslop, owner and director, Landmark Street Art

The pieces are named Banana Bomber: Making the world safer one step at a time and Butterfly Girl: Create what you dream.
