Miles for Matt: Runners unite to 'finish' London Marathon for chef who died

Hundreds of runners in the Lake District have teamed up w to run 3.7 miles in memory of Matt Campbell.

The 29-year-old chef from Kendal died after collapsing at the 22.5mile mark in Sunday's London Marathon.

At an event in Windermere, runners completed the last 3.7miles that Matt was unable to finish, to 'complete' his London Marathon.

In London, runners from the 'London Marathon Training Group 2018' met up in the city to run the 3.7miles.

#LetsRunForMatt has been trending on Twitter, with thousands pledging to complete the 3.7miles.

He was running the London Marathon for The Brathay Trust in memory of his father, Martin, who died in the summer of 2016.

Donations to Matt's JustGiving page have topped £170,000 since the announcement of his death.
