Former Carlisle Kitchen salesman Matthew Pagan was on stage at the Sands Centre last night with his band Collabro as they began their UK tour.
The theatrical group won Britain's Got Talent last year and have since had a number one album.
They will perform in the city again tonight.
Collabro will no longer be taking part in this year’s Carlisle Christmas Lights Switch On event.
The 2014 winners of Britain’s Got Talent have apologised after cancelling their appearance. A spokesperson for the group said:
The Christmas Lights Switch On is part of Carlisle's countdown to Christmas and will be held between 1pm and 5.30pm on Sunday 16th November.
BGT winners Collabro have reached the number one spot, in the Official Album's Chart, with their debut album 'Stars'.
They have overtaken Ed Sheeran's album 'X' which had been number one for eight weeks.
Collabro released their album on August 18th. They won Britain's Got Talent in June after what one of the judges called a 'perfect performance'.
There was excitement in Carlisle and plenty of high pitched squeals as Britain's Got Talent Winners Collabro were launching their debut album.
The boy group have only been together since January, and lots of fans turned out to catch a glimpse, with many who wanted to see Carlisle's Matt Pagan.

Collabro's Matthew Pagan from Carlisle said it was 'incredible' to be back home for the album launch.
He told Lori Carnochan was fans can expect of the new album.
