After the balmy end to March, wintry start to April & wet Bank Holiday - a more seasonal selection of weather this week.
From Tuesday a mixture of sunshine & showers. Some showers will be heavy and contain hail or thunder. Lighter winds later in the week could merge showers into longer spells of rain

A cloudy start with some rain & drizzle over hills. It should then dry up and brighten up a little.
Another weather system is due from the west later. This will bring thicker cloud, outbreaks of rain and strengthening winds. Temperatures not as chilly as yesterday 10 or 11C

As you can see from the latest satellite picture - quite a lot of cloud today. Some good breaks over the last hour to Carlisle, Penrith, parts of the Galloway Forest and up towards Galashiels.
Expect cloudier and wetter conditions overnight, especially over hills.
