WEATHER: Outlook of 'April showers' this week

After the balmy end to March, wintry start to April & wet Bank Holiday - a more seasonal selection of weather this week.

From Tuesday a mixture of sunshine & showers. Some showers will be heavy and contain hail or thunder. Lighter winds later in the week could merge showers into longer spells of rain

A lot of heavy rain in the south today. Much of the Border region will remain cloudy and showery.

Showers will develop for us overnight - some of them heavy and even falling as snow over the very tops of the hills.

A light dusting of the white stuff is possible by dawn.

This is the Met Office Forecast Radar for tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday.

Cloudy skies expected for all with outbreaks of rain, heavy over hills during the morning, turning showery later with some sunshine.
