Mencap fundraising challenge

A Cumbrian theatre school owner is taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for charity following the tragic death of a colleague. Denise Hutton's assistant, Rebecce Rennie, 23, was killed in a road accident on the A7 last December. Now Denise is trying to raise money in her memory.

Rebecca left behind a sister, Emma Jane, who is severely disabled and cannot communicate. The money raised by the Three Peaks Challenge will help to provide funds for Mencap's new respite facility in Carlisle at the Grace Little Centre.

Denise, whose business started after she appeared on the television programme, Dragons' Den, five years ago, now runs 40 Razzamataz schools across the UK. The challenge, to climb Britain's three highest mountains, Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, will take place next month.
