Approval for Carlisle airport
by Ryan DollardA £25m revamp of Carlisle airport which would see passenger flights across the UK and Ireland looks set to go ahead after the local council granted permission.
The Stobart Group who own the site say that today's decision could bring 500 jobs to the area. Opponents are still considering whether or not to appeal against it.
