Son charged with mother's murder
The police have charged the son of a woman who was killed in the Lake District with murder. 77 year old Jane Marie Theresa Archbold died after being assaulted at her home at Outgate near Ambleside on Tuesday night.
Robert Adam Pierre Archbold, who's 48 and also lived at Outgate, will appear at Furness District Magistrates court tomorrow.
Murder investigation continues
A murder investigation is continuing into the death of a 77 year old woman in Ambleside.
A 48 year old man who's related to the victim was arrested nearby following a search involving police dogs and a helicopter.
He's now being held on suspicion of murder. Formal identification of the woman and a post mortem investigation is expected to take place this week.

Police were called to a property at Outgate, Ambleside last night at 10:00 pm, after receiving reports that a woman had been assaulted in the property.
An investigation was launched and a man aged 48 from the Ambleside area was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Police are working to formally identify the woman.

Cumbria Police have launched a murder inquiry after a woman aged 77 died in suspicious circumstances at Outgate near Ambleside on Tuesday evening. A man aged 48 has been arrested and is being held at Kendal police station on suspicion of murder.
