Police are appealing for witnesses after a rider was thrown from her pony following a collision with a lorry near Annan on Tuesday.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward after an 18-year-old female rider was thrown from her pony following a collision with a lorry.

The accident happened at around 2.30pm on Tuesday in Dornock, near Annan.

The female was riding her grey coloured pony on the footpath parallel to the B721 when the collision with a 'DAF' articulated lorry occurred.

"The rider was thrown from the pony and received bruising and scratches as a result."
