Hospice at Home, Carlisle and North Lakeland, are hoping to beat 23 other charities to win a £250,000 home which they will then sell.

A Cumbrian charity could win a £250,000 home in a national competition. Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland gives people who are in the final stages of their life the chance to stay at home.
The charity says the money would give it both security and the chance to expand.
It has reached the final 24 of a national competition to win a Persimmon home.
The Charity Director Sheila Thompson said:
– Sheila Thompson'We offer people with a terminal illness the chance to die at home. To secure this money would just give us a bit of breathing room and the opportunity to look at offering more services.'
It costs 11,000 pounds a week to run Carlisle and North Lakeland Hospice at Home which is reliant entirely on donations.
The charity which receives the most on line votes wins the house.
