The man whose body was found beside the River Eden near Carlisle has been named. George Hetherington who was 69 and from the nearby village of Cargo was reported missing on Monday night and a large scale search found his body in the early hours of Tuesday 9th October.
Cumbria police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
Cumbria police have confirmed that a man's body has been found near the River Eden north of the village of Cargo on the outskirts of Carlisle.
It follows a search for a man in his 60s who was reported missing from Cargo.
Police, Coastguard, Mountain Rescue and RAF Boulmer were involved in the search along with local residents.In the early hours of 9th October the body of a man was found near to the River Eden in an area north of Cargo called 'Carr bed'.
Cumbria police are now working to formally identify the man and have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances.
