Planning given go-ahead

An historic Dumfries park is to undergo a two-million-pound transformation.

The money from Dumfries and Galloway Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund will be used to repair and restore Dock Pak.

The recreational area was the scene of a speech by Tony Blair on the eve of the 1997 election, but the area has been vandalised over the past few years.
