Police appeal for witnesses after the death of a 51 year old man.

Tragic accident suspected

Police investigating the death of a man in Newton Stewart think that it was a tragic accident, and that he simply fell over. At this stage it's believed that injuries from the fall killed 51 year old Derek McCalman, who lived in the town. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the police.

Further details released

Police have said that a man who died in Newton Stewart last night might have been seen by passers by between 10.30 and midnight. Anyone in the Albert Street, Dashwood Square, Queen Street area at that time is being asked to come forward.

Police are asking for anyone with information to come forward, after the death of a 51 year old man in Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway. The man was found unconscious near Dashwood Square and died shortly later. Anyone with information should contact 0845 600 5701.
