Crackdown on mopeds

Cumbria police are warning riders of illegally modified mopeds that they'll face check ups after a number of accidents.

Young riders putting lives at risk.

An unusual number of road accidents involving young riders has caused Cumbria Police to discover many mopeds have been modified to travel much faster than the law permits and posing a danger to those unqualified and uninsured to drive more powerful vehicles.

New testing equipment means they are now able to identify mopeds that have been modified. They are warning riders who have souped up their machines that they will be caught.
