Cumbrian Primary School celebrates 60th anniversary

A number of events and activities will be taking place to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Valley Primary School in Whitehaven.

A series of events and activities are taking place in Whitehaven today to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Valley Primary School.

The school children are having parties and the previous head teacher, Mrs Reay, will be planting a tree in commemoration of the occasion after a special assembly.

The school will be open for visitors between 3.30 and 6pm for tours, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Copeland will unveil a plaque to commemorate the anniversary.

Photographs of the school throughout the years will be on display during the day.
