Diver dies off coast near Eyemouth

A 52 year old man has died after getting into difficulties while diving off the coast of Eyemouth.

He was recovered by lifeboat crews after falling unconscious and was airlifted to hospital in Edinburgh but did not regain consciousness and died.

Investigations are continuing after a man died while diving with his son near Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders.

The 52 year old from Yorkshire appears to have taken ill while he was in the water on Saturday afternoon. He was rescued by a life boat crew but pronounced dead at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.

Diver dies after "falling ill" off St Abbs

A diver has died after getting into difficulties off St Abbs in the Scottish Borders. The man was with a group of divers yesterday when he had to be picked up from the dive boat by a Royal Navy helicopter.

A coastguard spokesman said the man was dead on arrival at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. It's believed the group divers were from Rotherham in South Yorkshire.
