There is currently widespread low impact flooding in Dumfries and Galloway, but significant flooding is not expected to affect the region today.
Lightning strikes have affected five hundred homes in Wigtownshire (Lochans and Leswalt areas), resulting in three separate faults.
It is hoped that four hundred homes will be reconnected by mid morning and that the remainder will be back on-supply by late afternoon.
Scottish Power say that there are currently problems with the mobile telephone network in these areas.
Amber weather warnings remain in place in South West Scotland and across the Lothian Borders, with wind expected to reach 50 to 60 mph in places, and could exceed 70 mph in some exposed areas in the west.
A flood warning has also been issued for Dumfries and Galloway.
