Two lanes blocked and very slow traffic due to snow on the M6 between J39 B6261 (Shap) and J40 A66 (Penrith).
There have been a number of minor accidents along the route due to the conditions.

One lane blocked and hazardous driving conditions due to snow on the M6 in both directions between J36 A590 (Kirkby Lonsdale) and J37 A684 (Kendal).
ROADS: A5092, GRIZEBECK, CUMBRIA
The A5092 is closed due to snow between the A595 and the A590. Several vehicles are stuck on the hill.
ROADS: A590 - BOTH DIRECTIONS, LINDALE, CUMBRIA
The A590 in both directions is blocked - queueing traffic due to a jackknifed lorry at B5271.
Snow is also affecting traffic along the whole of the A590. It is particularly bad towards Kendal.

The A68 southbound closed - road surface in poor condition due to ice and snow at the A6088 (Carter Bar).

The A686 Hartside Pass is closed due to snow between the A689 Front Street (Alston) and Melmerby road (Melmerby).
The road will be closed until at least 9am tomorrow morning (January 26).
