A 22 year old man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr in Northern Ireland last year.
The arrest was made in Milton Keynes by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit. The man, who's from Omagh, has been taken to a police station for questioning.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland says searches carried out earlier today in Cumbria and in Northern Ireland have been completed. Several items have been seized for examination. Police say their inquiries are continuing.
A statement from the Police Service of Northern Ireland said:
Detectives from the PSNI's Serious Crime Branch, with assistance from officers in Cumbria Constabulary and the North West Counter Terrorism Unit, are conducting a number of searches in Northern Ireland and north west England.
The search activity is in connection with the wider investigation into the murder of PSNI Constable Ronan Kerr in April 2011 and linked incidents.
