Dumfries and Galloway MP Russell Brown is asking local people to help him locate the families of three servicemen from the First World War that are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dumfries.

Dumfries and Galloway MP Russell Brown is asking local people to help him locate the families of three servicemen from the First World War that are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dumfries.
Servicemen named
Dumfries and Galloway MP Russell Brown is hoping local people can help him find the families of three servicemen from World War One.
The remains of the servicemen currently lie in unmarked graves at the Holy Cross Cemetary in Dumfries.
The servicemen are:
- Able Seaman Andrew Carnochan - served on the H.M.S. Marlborough, Royal Navy, and died on 3rd March 1919, aged 19. Son of William Carnochan of 114 Queensberry Street, Dumfries.
- Private Thomas Donnelly - 9th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers, died on 10th October 1915, aged 53. Husband of Mary Jane Currie Donnelly.
- Private Augustine Hullin - 1st Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers, and died on 10th April 1917, aged 42. Son of Daniel and Margaret Hullin of Harrogate, Yorkshire.
Russell Brown MP is asking local people to get in touch if they have any information.

"Able Seaman Andrew Carnochan, Private Thomas Donnelly and Private Augustine Hullian lost their lives in the First World War but currently have nothing to signify their final resting place.
"It is time to put that right because the grave of every serviceman deserves to be properly recognised."

Russell Brown seeks families of WW1 servicemen
Russell Brown MP is asking local people to help him find the families of three First World War servicemen, who lie in unmarked graves.
The remains of the soldiers are located on the central lawn at the Holy Cross Cementary in Dumfries.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is now looking to recognise the graves, after fifty years of abandonment.
They intend to erect three headstones for the soldiers and reinstate the site as an official point of commemoration.
This comes as part of their work in the run up to the 100 year anniversary of the First World War.
The names of the three servicemen are recorded, however contact has been lost with their families and Russell Brown is hoping that local people can help find them.
