The man is being questioned by detectives at Workington police station.
The fire, which damaged three properties on Windebrowe Avenue, happened on Friday night.

The fire was reported at just before midnight on December 21 at Windebrowe Avenue in Keswick.
It is believed wheelie bins were set on fire close to properties causing the flames to spread.
No one was injured.
