Beattock crash victim named

The 46-year-old woman who was killed in a car accident near Beattock in Dumfries and Galloway has been named as Dawn Kirk.

A 20-year-old man who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa involved in the crash, was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the Corsa before the incident is asked to contact police on 0845 600 5701 or anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The A701 has been re-opened, after a fatal road crash at around 10am this morning (10th January).

A 46-year-old woman was killed in the accident at Marchbank Woods near Beattock in Dumfries and Galloway.

A 20-year-old man who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa involved in the crash, was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

It has been confirmed that a 46-year-old woman died after a road accident at around 10am this morning (9th January), just outside of Beattock.

A 20-year-old man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to minor injuries.

The collision involved a white Vauxhall Corse, driven by the man.

A woman has died in a road accident on the A701 at Marchbank Woods near Beattock in Dumfries and Galloway.

The accident happened at around 10am this morning (10th January).

A man has been taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The road is closed and diversions are being put in place.
