Big Burns Supper

A look ahead at the events being held in Dumfries for the 'Big Burns Supper'.

The 'safety of the audience and participants' is main priority

The Big Burns Supper organisers made the decision to cancel the opening ceremony, due to severe weather conditions.

“We understand that the community will be very disappointed by this decision, as will the hundreds of local school children who have worked tirelessly for months preparing for the show, however the safety of audience and participants has to be our first priority and it is with this in mind that the decision has been made to cancel.

“All other festival events will go ahead as planned, and with 100 events taking place at 45 venues, there is still plenty to choose from."

– Graham Main, Festival Director
