Man dies in Whitehaven crash
A man has died in a road crash in Whitehaven.
The collision, involving one car, happened at around 2.30pm close to the Howgate Hotel.
Cumbria Police say the man, who is believed to be local and in his seventies, collided with a wall and was pronounced dead at West Cumberland Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Mark Ormerod in Cumbria Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit on 101.

Road re-opened after manure spillage
Arthuret Road in Longtown, Cumbria, has re-opened.
The road was closed after a tractor carrying a load of manure overturned, causing around 100 yards of the A7 to be covered in dung.
