Calls are being made for upgrades to be carried out on a major trunk road in the Scottish Borders.
Figures have been released showing there have been nearly 500 accidents between Edinburgh and the Borders in the last decade.
Now a local politician is asking the Scottish Government to consider making the A68 dual carriageway.

John Lamont, MSP for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire wants to see more investment on the A68 to make it safer, by introducing more crawler lanes, and by duelling sections.
Calls are being made for one of the main roads in the Borders to be upgraded.
Figures show there have been nearly 500 accidents on the A68 between Edinburgh and the Borders over the last 10 years, and 15 of those were fatal.
