The hunt is on for speed camera saboteurs responsible for a string of attacks across the Scottish Borders, that could be putting lives at risk.
Six have now been vandalised - and it is thought the same person or people could be responsible.
Hannah McNulty reports:
Two speed cameras on the A68 between Huntford and Camptown in the Scottish Borders were the target of vandals over the weekend.
Both cameras were destroyed with a saw, bringing the total number of speed cameras sabotaged with a saw to six.
Lothian and Borders Police are investigating the incident as it is theft, vandalism and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Superintendent Denise Mulvaney from Lothian and Borders Police, said:
"There appears to be a systemic campaign of violence aimed at safety cameras.
"The method used to attack the cameras is highly dangerous, the people responsible for these actions are putting their own lives at risk as well as the safety of others.
"Anyone who comes into close contact with a camera that has been attacked in this fashion could be electrocuted.
"I'm urging any member of the public who has information they think might relate to any of the crimes aimed at safety cameras to contact the police."
