Locals from Langholm want to celebrate the life of Neil Armstrong with a series of events this summer.
In 1972 the first man on the moon visited Langholm to trace his Scottish ancestry.
If you met him that day - and would like to share your memories - the good folk at the town hall would like to hear from you.
Jenny Longden has this report:
A series of events is being planned to commemorate and celebrate the life of Langholm's most famous son- Neil Armstrong.
In particular, community leaders, are appealing to locals to come forward and share their memories of the famous day when the first man on the moon was given the 'Freedom of the Burgh', in 1972.
Armstrong is said to have descendants from the area and remains the towns only Freeman.
