Thirty million pounds is being invested to upgrade a power line across Cumbria over the next ten months.
New wires will be installed along parts of the route, which stretches for more than 70 miles from Carlisle to North Lancashire.
National Grid says that there won't be any disruption to household supplies and the work will ensure that everyone continues to have the power they need in future.
