Kent Police: Driver of black car has been traced

Police in Kent searching for a missing Carlisle soldier say they have traced a car which approached the teenager.

Police say he was seen on CCTV walking on Rochester bridge just before 1am when a black hatchback car was seen to have stopped and engage in conversation with him.

Police say the driver of that car has now come forward and provided officers with information.

Josh Thomas, 18, disappeared last Wednesday after a night out drinking with friends. He had been celebrating passing his exams.

"We are thankful for the media coverage in helping trace the driver of the black hatchback car seen on CCTV stopping on the bridge.

"That person has been helping us with our enquires."

Fresh appeal in search for Carlisle soldier

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a Carlisle soldier who went missing in Rochester, Kent, are appealing to two BMX riders seen nearby minutes after the teenager was last sighted on CCTV.

Josh Thomas, aged 18, disappeared last week after a night out drinking with friends. He was last seen by a friend outside the City Wall pub in Rochester on Wednesday, April 10.

Police say two males were seen riding on small BMX bikes along Corporation Street, Strood-bound, just minutes after Josh was sighted in that area.

They were then seen riding along the High Street, heading back towards Rochester at just before 2am.

The father of a missing soldier has travelled to Kent to help search for him.

Josh Thomas, who is based at Brompton Barracks, Chatham, was last seen outside the City Wall pub in Rochester on Wednesday April 10, after a night out with friends.

The distraught father of a Carlisle soldier is taking to the streets of Rochester in Kent to plead for help in finding his teenage son.

18-year-old Josh Thomas disappeared last week after a night out drinking with friends when he had been celebrating passing his exams.

The last sighting of him was in the early hours of Wednesday morning and a few images on CCTV are the only clues his family have.
