Man arrested after armed stand off at a pub

Armed police called to pub in Brampton

Armed police were involved in a stand-off lasting five hours with a man at a pub in Brampton, Cumbria last night. Officers were called to reports a man was had a weapon at the Howard Arms.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. No weapon was found.

Man arrested after five hour stand-off at Brampton pub

A man has been arrested after a five hour stand-off at a pub in Brampton, Cumbria. Officers were called to reports a man in the Howard Arms in the town centre had a weapon last night (Friday).

People around the area were told to stay indoors. Following negotiations, a 42 year old man was arrested inside the pub. He's being questioned on suspicion of making threats to kill. No weapon was found.
