A man has been charged with two offences after armed police were involved in a five hour stand-off at a pub in Brampton in Cumbria on Friday night. 42 year old Robert Norris is accused of assaulting a police officer and obstructing a police officer. He's due to appear in court tomorrow.

People around the area were told to stay indoors. Following negotiations, a 42 year old man was arrested inside the pub. He's being questioned on suspicion of making threats to kill. No weapon was found.
