The green fingered keepers of the grounds of Dalemain Mansion are celebrating tonight after being awarded the national Garden of the Year award.
The historic house near Penrith now joins an illustrious list of former winners including Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard.

The annual Garden of the Year award has been won by Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria.
The trophy, which has previously been won by Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard, was presented to owner Jane Hasell-McCosh in the grounds of the garden.
A country house in Cumbria is to be honoured for its gardens.
Dalemain Mansion near Penrith will receive the prestigious Garden of the Year Award from the Historic Houses Association.
Previous winners of the award include Castle Howard and Blenheim Palace.
