This year’s Wickerman has been our most successful yet and I want to say a huge thank you to our artists, fans and our festival team here at Dundrennan for all their hard work and commitment each year. We’ve seen a perfect mix of brilliant performances, beautiful weather and a very relaxed and happy crowd on site which has resulted in a festival that has been enjoyed by everyone involved.’
We have had a very good natured event with no major issues causing the police or emergency services any concern so far. We’re extremely happy with the way that the festival has gone over the past two days.’
The Wickerman Festival in Dundrennan, Dumfries and Galloway drew to a close last night with the midnight burning of a giant Minotaur Wickerman statue. The sell out crowd of 12,000 enjoyed two days of performances from acts including Amy MacDonald.
Overall we have a very good natured crowd on site who are enjoying the festivities. There have been a few arrests for minor offences however no serious incidents to date. All agencies are working closely together to ensure that everyone continues to enjoy themselves safely for the remainder of the festival.
