"West Cumbria is the place to be this autumn"

“We have worked closely with Britain's Energy Coast and Cumbria partners to ensure that this year's Tour of Britain passes through the dramatic scenery of West Cumbria for the very first time.

"I was previously Head of Major Events at the Northwest Development Agency and worked on the early preparations for the Rugby League World Cup so it's fantastic to see West Cumbria also playing its part in hosting another world class major sports event in addition to The Tour of Britain.

"West Cumbria is definitely the place to be this autumn."

– Sheldon Phillips, Regional Representative, the Tour of Britain

“This Autumn is going to be an incredibly memorable one and we are delighted that the Western Lake District will be given such amazing opportunities to shine on a world stage.”
